Divorce from a kid’s perspective: Let me out of here!

At this period in time, I enjoyed the most “freedom.” It was a break in the story, if you will. I carried the responsibility of school, met my real wife-to-be, (not the high school sweetheart,) married her and started on my own journey. I thought it was over.
Diary Entries
“I’m in college! I’m really free, now! Free from the tyranny of it all. It’s funny, they always call me to find out how to deal with my brother. He’s living with Dad, now. I guess he had to find out what it was like too.
Mom calls about him, Dad calls about him, the steps call about him. Huh, who’s really the parent? Was it me all along? No, we just communicated together effectively out of self- defense. It’s hard when the two of us feel backed into a corner.
The girlfriend didn’t work out. I guess those statistics are right. I’m through with girls. College is the life. No serious relationships. No serious rules. No serious problems. I’m free…finally.”
